Not really bothered about distance to Disney / universal as only going about 6 days out of 14 ,thanks everyone

Highlands Reserve has Berry Town Centre next to it. A few different bars and restaurants on there.
It’s quite a large community so it’s more walkable in the heat from one side than the other! |

Southern Dunes also has a range of places outside you can get to by walking including Manny’s if you do not mind approx 30 minute walk, plus there is a huge Walmart for shopping for snacks on the way back if still hungry!

We have also had the Sunday brunch breakfast at the clubhouse which was very good last time we went and of course the bar is open throughout the day for drinks and snack and the restaurant for lunches and think they open it one evening a week for dinner. |

We booked Highlands Reserve for this very reason, the north end, only a 10 minute walk to Berry Town Centre and an Applebee’s close by

Walking doesn’t really happen in Orlando. Everybody drives. Crossing roads can be a nightmare too
Even staying in a large hotel we drove from our room to the restaurant. I remember many years ago driving from our hotel to TGI Fridays as it was easier to drive than cross the road😀 |

We have stayed at West Haven and walked along to Championsgate. There are a number of places to eat and drink, such as Chilis, Millers, 4 corners Tavern, Red Robin etc. Takes a maximum of 40 minutes and is a very pleasant walk

As you say High Grove has a bar just outside the gates, 5 min walk from any villa on High Grove, you also have Cagans Crossing about 5 mins walk further

In general I would agree with you, but villas within easy, safe walking distance are very sought after and one of the main reasons we chose our home. We often walk to the restaurants at Berry Town Center and I know our guests do too. Can't beat Applebee's two for one alcohol offer and you need to walk to take advantage of that!
