12 Parsecs- Day 3 - Epcot

Welcome to our trip report! 😎

Location: Port Orleans French Quarter
Index: here
Steps: 18,339

*****
Epcot today.

I woke up much later than I thought. Had believed I would wake to jet lag nice and early and get time for a run. Try out that POFQ jogging trail.

But I woke at 7 and that is much too late and hot.

George then announced he had been awake for hours. Not good - poor boy will struggle later I thought.

Once up and dressed didn’t have time to fill mugs etc. The boys had the left over beignets from yesterday.

We headed off to EPCOT. T is one of these strange people who think that Soarin is better than sliced bread. So once there, the rope finally dropped off we ran (I mean walked at a fast pace).

We now had a FP for Spaceship Earth, which is always good. The boys had fun choosing their technologies at the end asked me what I had - apparently health wasn’t a good choice!

I wanted to walk to France to grab breakfast but the boys made me stop for a Starbucks on the way. Caramel or java chip had to be the best flavours.

We started to walk to France for breakfast but then decided that we didn’t need breakfast as the Starbucks and heat had just about finished us.

We had some FPs for mission space, tried to get on early but ended up riding green on standby then orange on our FP. T reported he felt a bit weird again after it but this time not so bad he walked into a wall.

We didn’t really know what to do next so decided the best plan was to walk around the whole world. Stopped in Japan for drinks.

First time the boys had shaved ice, this was good apparently but nowhere near as good as the other drink which they had been raving about for 2 years.

We then got stuck in Japan as a storm came in.

When the rain stopped we finished our walk around the world but just as we were walking up for our FP on test track the ride went tech.

Decided to sit it out and this proved a good choice, we could have rode any other ride in Epcot on a FP, but the ride was up and going again in 10 mins. Had a great time choosing our car etc.

We were a bit tired by this stage and decided to head back to the resort got a pizza at POFQ and sat outside watching the rain come down.

Having eaten our body weight in pizza the rain came in properly and we got stuck in our room for a bit.

When the rain finally eased we decided we were all too tired to go out to the parks so got the boat down to DS again.

They got their pin trading ready for the first time in the holidays

We wandered for hours partly shopping (remembered to pick up gift card for the free QSDP Disney Dollars) didn’t really buy much.

In the end we stopped at Polite Pig, never been here before (slightly put out by being asked if I would like to tip - well NO not for counter service) but the food was great. We voted it not quite as good as Blaze Pizza but still good.

Boys then spent some time and money in pin traders in return I got to watch some of the band and have a beer (they played oasis which was great).

After this we got the boat home, it was only 9:30 but we were shattered…

Thanks for reading
