The german link is £280 more expensive for a STD SUV for my dates at the back end of August.

What is interesting though is that it is only 50 euros extra to go up to a Full Size SUV, Brits is over £300 extra to go from a STD to a Full Size!

prices vary so much between sites. Some sites are cheaper , some are ridiculously expensive, for the same dates.
And, some sites are cheaper than other sites, for a vehicle category, and more expensive for another vehicle category

there is no site that offers the *best deal around* for anyone's rental. You need to shop around. It depends on dates and category.

for example, my dates (3/8/18 -> 25/8/18)

for a STD SUV

Virgin : £1328
German : 1150€ ( £1000 ) and it will drop £150 or so tomorrow or sunday and be back up by monday
DFCH (w/ alamo) £1299
DFCH (w/Avis) £1342
Brits : £1195

for an Int SUV
Virgin : £1190
German : 831€ ( £724 ) and should drop to around 720€ ( £630) for the weekend
DFCH with Alamo : £1102
DFCH with Avis : £743
Brits : £1171

these figures show that some sites are better for some car categories, but not for others

and those prices are for today. There is fairly high chance (I'd even say it's certain) that if we take the same samples again in 6 months, the results will be totally different, and a site that's the cheapest today will not be the cheapest at that time.

for example, for my april/may rental, Andy from DFCH still has the best price around (for alamo)

once again, the basic rule I apply is "book as early as possible with whoever has a fair price and free cancellation, and amend/rebook when prices drop"

Hi everyone,

This is all new to me and I am having problems trying to book through the UK Alamo site, there does not seem to be a booking link, it's all advertisements.

Could anyone help with this?

thank you

Hey, using this link returns me a fab price for my dates in august.

When I look on holidays autos it specifically states zero excess, is this the same?

Do I just grab the base price & no extras?

Thanks in advance

If its with Brits its good to go. No extras to pay. All hire booked via a UK site should be zero excess as is Brits

Sounds like you've been on Alamo.com, especially with you mentioning Alamo insiders.
