Looking for a nice beach and a good hotel

Hi. We're going in May, doing a couple of weeks at WDW and then want to book a few days by the sea. Can anyone recommend a location and good hotel within a few hours of Orlando.

Cheers
Pete

Take a look at Naples on the Gulf Coast. Can't recommend any hotels there, but I'm planning a stay, so let me know. Or Miami Beach wouldn't be the worst idea.

Every year we have a week in Sarasota and have stayed in the Holiday Inn Lido Key for the last 7 years. Its literally on the beach and is walking distance to St Armands Circle. Great food, sea view family rooms, lots going on in the area, water sports from Siesta Key beach. Amazing place

Hi
we have stayed at the Sandcastle Resort (formerly the Helmsley Sandcastle) in Sarasota a couple of times and love the location - right on the beach
Parts of the hotel can seem a little 'dated' but we like it. Fantastic location for the beach

We stayed in the Dolphin Beach hotel in St Petes Beach in 2002 and that was really lovely, right on the beach.
