I don’t know whether you can use them to reduce the total cost of a package holiday but you can use them to pay for individual parts such as your hotel room and/or your flight if that makes sense! I may not have explained that very well, sorry.

You can through the BA website, however they work out very poor value, Id use them to pay for a portion of the holiday instead (eg car hire?)

I use them for hotel stays when we do road trips, very easy to do and usually a great selection.

Our last trip to Orlando was nearly all paid for with avios - the flights, the car and hotel all paid form this way. Agree with the above that avios on anything other than flights can seem poor value but if you have a surplus of avios then why not..

You used to be able to book package holidays through avios at 1000 points = £50 discount. We went to Mexico with Thomson with quite a considerable discount

I booked our last 2 nights at Encandata with some of our AVOIS points through BA as couldn't book it direct with BA. I couldn't find a way to get a discount against our fly-drive just flights only but still saved some money overall.
