It's been a long time but I definitely recommend Spinalonga Island tour, which was the leper colony. Very poignant. We went there when we stayed in Aghios Nikolaos, which is in the East, like Gouves.

We also stayed in Rethymnon in the West of the Island.

Can't remember more specific places we went, but probably included a Greek night or two and a walk around a town.

One of the places we went was beautiful Elafonisi beach. Beautiful pinkish sand. If I remember anything else I'll add it.

Is anyone watching My New Greek Life on Channel 5, it's pretty good and on for an hour every week, just watched the first 2 episodes on catch up. We're off to Crete in June for a couple of weeks, not really sure whether it's the nicest island, loved doing Zante the last 2 years but I think we've driven everywhere there is to see there, hoping we love Crete too. I really never fancied Greece at all but totally fell in love with it, the people are so lovely and friendly.

I’ve just watched the last episode on Symi. I didn’t feel the same draw to it as some of the other places.

My Dads been and hes seen a lot of Greece and it said it was ok. For him that means it didnt have the same pull as so many other places they go.
