Homeland

I didn’t even know this was back until last Sunday before the first episode aired. It’s the last series and I’ve just started watching episode 2 on recordings.

The more I watch it, the more I’m wondering why. Carrie isn’t a sympathetic character and neither is Saul. The only current character I really like is Max, who’s been helping Carrie since the beginning. I liked Quinn and the Asian lady from a few seasons ago, but they both died.

I’ll probably stick with it till the very end, but I’m not really enjoying it.

Thanks for this, I didn't realise the new series had started. I think I may have to re watch the last season to refresh my mind as it's been a while.
Claire Danes is a fantastic actress but I agree her character isn't always likeable. Quinn was my favourite, I am still haunted by when he got gassed in Season 5

I'm suprised it's still on. Stopped watching it ages ago.

All went downhill when Damian Lewis left!

We gave up on it a couple of years ago; we were mid-season & actually mid-episode & just said “enough”, turned it off, deleted the Sky+ recording & never went back.
It had completely lost its shine & believable storylines after Quinn was killed off.

Loved the original ‘Homeland’; the Israeli series ‘Prisoners of War; 2 seasons with a storyline around the Israeli/Lebanon/Syria troubles; Israeli soldiers returning home after being captured & held as POWs for 17 years to a world where computers & mobiles now exist, their children are now adults with no memory of them, partners have moved on & married others & parents have died.
It was bought by Fox/Showtime & turned into Homeland.

I totally agree after Quinn got killed off, it lost its way I think. Thanks for the background on what it was based on
