Food
Does anyone have any tips on eating on a budget in Orlando? We plan to have a few nice meals in places like the rainforest cafe and hard rock etc.
I am happy to go to walmart and get some packed lunch stuff to take into the parks. Any tips would be welcome x |

We are on a budget this year so are staying in a villa and only eating out a few times and taking snacks and drinks into the parks.

This is a food report done on a budget, so might have some good tips in there. I will order off the children's menus at Counter service restaurants and we have cereals in the villa for breakfast. Places like the Golden Corral are cheap, but I know they're not popular with everyone

Take your own cereals and teabags and join the email clubs of restaurants you enjoy.
Our eating out habits while on holiday have changed over the years and we now eat out every other night. Our early visits to Orlando we would never consider eating in... but we now enjoy having things like brisket and pulled pork and we often have leftover ribs from the previous nights visit to a restaurant. |

If you are in a villa or condo, you can have breakfast there. We take some ham wraps and snacks/fruit into the parks for lunch and we freeze bottles of water and have those in the bag to drink. They also keep the food cold and fresh. We also refill our water bottles from the fountains, but it's not to everyone's taste, but we don't mind it. We get ready cooked pizza from Walmart for evening meal or a ready cooked chicken with bread and salad. Some nights we eat out. Lots of restaurant have 2 for $20 etc on which are great value. We also look for Groupons for meals and also some on Travelzoo. We also buy some gift cards (use the instant email delivery and pay by paypal). I know you are paying in advance but while on holiday it feels like free dining!
