The menu doesn't fill me with excitement but really want to eat there and want to meet the beast so dinner it is, what meal would you recommend?

I had the steak, hubby had the salmon. Both massive pieces. Cooked absolutely beautifully, but over salted. Overall a decent enough meal and a million times better than lunch which was awful

I also recommend Grilled Strip Steak with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites. Really good.

We had the steak last week and it was lovely. I wouldn't bother with the grey stuff dessert though. The cupcake at lunchtime was much better.

We had rack of lamb which was excellent.
Lovely evening, much more relaxed than lunch as you are guided to your table (with a light-up Lumiere!) and of course you can see the Beast (or 'The Master' as everyone calls him there) in the study afterwards. We weren't fussed with the desserts - considering 'after all Miss, this is France' you would think they would specialise in French classics like lemon tart, chocolate mousse etc. Cupcakes? Er, no, not very French! And the grey stuff isn't delicious, it's basically smushed up oreos in cream. But it's pretty. Still, a lovely setting and the ballroom is breathtaking.
