How long before flying should you book special assistance

Hello

I always book special assistance and apart from when I fly with jet2 something always goes wrong.

I always book it really early so thought I might wait to nearer the flight this time.

Just wondering when other people booked it.

I always book as soon as I have my flight booked and then check about a week before to make sure its noted just in case.

As soon as the flight is booked, I call Special Assistance and book with them too.

At the same time as making the booking - within minutes of receiving the confirmation email.

To be fair I've had issues but only once or twice and it tends to be when I've booked flights through other companies rather than direct.

Same as others, I book at the tine of booking, though in my BA account its noted in my profile, so automatically books it
