Express passes as Universal
Morning Dibbers, we will be at Universal Studios/IoA at the beginning of November (w/c 4 November) and I’m wondering whether to book a night at one of the hotels to get express passes. Is it worth getting express passes at that time of year? What are the queues normally like? We will have a 3 year old, 10 month old and 3 month old with us.

Are you doing the main attractions? Looking at the age of your children wasn't sure what your plans were

Yes we are. We are there for 3 weeks, staying onsite at POFQ for the first week then 2 weeks in a villa. We will be going to US/IoA in our last week.

Hello. We were there a similar time last year. If you plan to do the parks in 2 days the express passes are a great benefit. However I wouldn’t say they are necessary as wait times were not bad. Staying at the hotel allows you to go back and forth with the children for a break if necessary. It is expensive for the hotels with the passes so may not be worthwhile if you have other accommodation paid for.

Not sure what the child swap facility is like at Universal-if you can use this in an express queue may be worth doing but if only one of you looking to go on certain rides may not be worth the extra cost

I was thinking more for convenience really with the little ones. There are also five adults who all like the big rides so would prefer not to be hanging around waiting with the little ones for too long. If the queues aren’t that bad, i think we should be ok

We used child swab and express and it worked great. It took away the guilt of making the kids queue for rides they weren't riding.

Were going the beginning of November and have booked a one night stay ( using Tesco clubcard vouchers ) so didn’t really cost us anything 🙂
