Hotel breakfast free half board

Hi all,

We have booked Disney sequoia lodge 30th Dec 2019- 3 Jan 2020 for a new year break (yey!) and have free half board. Do we need to book a time for the breakfast buffet or just show up?

Also, we were thinking that we might get up early for extra magic time and then go back to the hotel for breakfast slightly later (maybe 10am?) before then going back to parks. Worth it? Or would you suggest getting up earlier to have breakfast first before extra magic time? We are just 2 adults so no little ones to worry about!

Thanks in advance!

Generally they don't have time slots anymore for breakfast, however if the hotel is very busy with a high number of guests booked who have breakfast included they may issue time slots to control demand. Even if they do issue time slots there will be two queues, one for 'on time' guests and one for anyone else, so there might be a longer wait if you miss your slot but you will still get to eat

We have headed to the parks early doors when staying at Sequoia before and then headed back for breakfast later on so it is definitely do able -especially at the time of year you are visiting make use of EMT because the parks will be busy!

We have always skipped included breakfast to get more out of the early hours and grabbed muffin and coffee from Starbucks

We’ve gone into the parks then back for a late breakfast when we were staying in the DLH, but I don’t know if I’d go all the way back to the hotel for breakfast if I was staying further away - maybe you could plan to do some shopping in Disney Village that morning, then it would be hardly any further to pop back for breakfast first.

I've just come back from a long weekend at the Sequoia - Friday and Monday we got up and out for EMH, stayed in the park til about 9:30 then headed back for breakfast.
We left the hotel at 7:35 on Friday morning so if you're happy to get up earlier for breakfast, do that. If not then it's walkable back from the parks and EMH are SO worth doing!
