DVC member privileges during rented points stays
I know some dvc privileges are available to those renting points, eg parking and laundry, but is there anyway to find out what benefits can/can not be used by renters?
The reason I ask is that I thought parking and laundry were the only benefits renters could make use of but I read an article on thepointsguy where those renting at BLT used the Top of the World lounge. I didn’t think this was possible and that only members showing their card could go in. We’re renting at BLT next August and would love to visit the lounge but wouldn’t want to try to get in if it’s not allowed. |

In theory you have to show your member card to get up to the lounge at Bay Lake but in practice some cast members have been lenient depending on how busy it is.

It is meant to be only members showing a card and guests, staying anywhere on property (apart from now 3 July and 30 December when you have to be staying at BLT- 4 July and 31 December are now paid for parties grrrr) who get in. However, they are spotty about checking the card, particularly when it’s quiet.
Being pedantic, there are no benefits at all technically available to non members, e.g. no Moonlight Magic, no DVC Lounge. The parking and washing isn’t technically a member benefit. These are not supplied free because the member you are renting from has paid for them in his/ her dues. So DVC cannot charge anyone using the points for these items, as the dues on those points have already paid to make and staff and maintain the car park, and have paid to buy the washer, keep it running, the electricity etc. I’ve no doubt if Disney were legally able to charge guests, they would do so!
