Mobile Tried and tested tomato chutney recipes

I’m going to be swamped with plum tomatoes this summer as all 20 plants have taken.

Looks like it’s chutney making this year lol.

Anyone have any tasty tomato chutney recipes?

Thanks

I think the art if ‘making’ is dieing as a general rule of thumb. I suspect that the majority of dibbers would buy a jar.

I remember my old nans recipie and that involved green tomatos. Whilst i cannot remember the exact proportions it was something like...

A shed load of green toms
Half as many again of onions
Saltanas bout a pound or so
Dried Mixed fruit
Brown sugar
Malt vinegar bout 2-3 pints a muslin bag containing mixed pickling
spices
Paprika

Big pan, soften onions, bring to boil and simmer all day.

Turns out rather like a tomato jam, but boy oh boy it is great with a lump of cheddar.

Best i can do
