Can you you link old magicbands

We have magicbands from a stay on site a couple of years ago would these still work and how would you link them to newly purchased tickets.

Also how much are magicbands to buy?

As far as I know you can link them as long as they are not assigned to a new person. When we went earlier this year the plain ones were $12 and design type anything up to $30

The RFID battery which is only really needed for ride video's has around a 2 year lifespan. The bands will still work for entry etc and for photo's where the band is physically scanned.

You don't link MagicBands directly to tickets. Instead, you just link everything to your MyDisneyExperience account.

Unless you've unlinked them, your old MagicBands will already be linked to your Disney account.

You then link your tickets to your Disney account and assign them to people listed in your account. You link a ticket by entering the reference number on the card (or the reference number under the barcode if you have a Will Call voucher) on the "Link Tickets" page of your Disney account.

That's it. You can then use your old MagicBands to access your tickets.

The basic ones in a single colour are $13 each. The other decorated ones and limited edition ones will cost more ($20 and upwards).

We have a one night stay 5 days into our stay, so we won't have our magic bands of the first few days .

Can we use old magic bands , and then link use our new ones once we pick them up from the hotel ?

Yes, you can use your old MagicBands and then your new ones once you get them. You can also continue to use your old MagicBands even after you've got your new ones.

Just make sure the old MagicBands are activated in your MDE account.

You can continue to use an old MagicBand for years to come. The long range facilities, such as the automatic linking of ride videos to your account, will stop working after 2 years or so. However, the short range "tap-against-a-scanner" ability will work for much longer.
