Hire car dilemma - who to book with & avoid extra costs
So, this year I went with a BA fly drive and all the costs for the hire car were included and Avis were good as gold and didn't charge me anything extra at all.
Next year I don't have a package as the pricing doesn't work, it cheaper to book deprecate flights & car. So is this to good to be true, for example if I go on holiday autos and price up a mini van for 18 days it come to around £600 They say it covers all taxes, insurance, zero excess so it seams to read right. It does exclude accidental damage to tyres & windows etc but that's only £3 a day to cover Does this sound right, has anyone else done this and been charged extra? |

With holiday autos you should be seeing this in the T & C's. If not dont touch it.
•CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and Vehicle Theft Waiver (TW) with Zero Excess. (Not included: Tyres, Glass, Wheels, Rear view and side mirrors, Windows, Hubcaps, Undercarriage etc. Please check with Dollar on arrival). •Third Party Liability (maximum coverage is 1,000,000) •Breakdown assistance is included for mechanical failure only. •Unlimited mileage •Airport Fee •Taxes and Fees The 3rd party liability is where some suppliers skimp. It needs to be $1.000.000. I would get the Mods to move this to the car forum as you should be able to get cheaper than this. What are your exact dates?

OP.
Netflights with using Dollar is £570. Personally I would rather walk than use Dollar! Now if you do a split rental with Brits I can get it down to £695 So basically pick up at MCO on the 14th, drop off at the Car Care Centre at the MK on the 16th and immediately drive back out in the same car for the rest of the holiday! The 16th is when prices drop with Alamo. Or £678 if you do the first 2 days via Virgin and the remainder via Brits. Same as above, drop off and get them to reissue the contract and keep the same car, or change it if you want

Thanks for all of this, but do they have any hidden charges when I hand the car back at the end of the holiday?
