(Yet another) magic band question
Hi all,
I am off to WDW in August, staying off site. Me and my hubby have got magic bands from when we went last year however my mother in law hasn't been since the bands have been introduced and so am planning to get her one when we arrive at the parks. The question is if I link mine and my hubby's band to our tickets on MDE, will this cause problems if my mother in laws band is added when we've purchased her band, or should I wait and link them all at once? |

Your MagicBand or card just acts a way to access the information held in your MDE account.
You need to link your tickets for all of you so you can book your FPs (and add your MiL as a guest on your MDE is you haven't already) and by lilib your tickets is means your MB will automatically be able to access them. Once you have a MB for your MiL the shop can link it to her using her ticket or you can do it from the app. |

To clarify, Magic Bands are not linked directly to tickets. Magic Bands are linked to an MDE account and, separately, tickets are linked to an MDE account (and then assigned to a person).
If you've used your Magic Bands last year, then your Magic Bands will already be linked to your Disney account. So you can't wait to link your bands; they're already linked. You could wait and link your tickets to your Disney account but then you wouldn't be able to prebook your fastpasses. However, there shouldn't be a problem linking your tickets now and then linking your mother-in-law's tickets to your MDE account later.
