Covid vaccine for Asperger's adults

Does anyone know if high functioning autism adults can have the vaccine. DS is in his 30's and fairly independent but does need a lot of emotional support being a worrier. Would it be ethical to ask if he is able to have his vaccine soon, he wouldn't want to feel he is queue jumping but the most vulnerable groups are pretty much done soon.

All adults with a learning disability have been placed in group 6, so if his autism is sufficiently impairing to count as a learning disability he should be able to access the vaccine.

I think that the key difference between impairment and disability is whether someone needs support with day to day living. It's certainly not unreasonable to have a discussion with his GP.

Having an ongoing battle with my GP surgery, they admit my 30 year old Asperger’s son qualifies but reckon they can’t update his NHS records to resolve it so the website recognises him as eligible.
They don’t seem to be able to explain to me why he isn’t on the disability register so I’m getting passed from person to person.
Think it’s time to email my MP and get them to take an interest.

Yes, he is in group 6.

My son is also group 6 but wasn’t contacted because his GP surgery had not added him to the Disability register. You need to contact your GP and ask if he is on it and if not, why not. Once they add him to it he will instantly get the text from them for his vaccine.

My son is 28 , and has had his, I contacted my gp surgery( we have an online form option) , asking as he a learning disability when we could expect his vaccination, they emailed back the next day, and he had his last weekend
