Orlando Hotel Prices August
We booked 37 nights worth of hotel rooms way back in January... and got some cracking rates.
Then as time passed by, & the Presidential Proclamation still being in place, I cancelled every hotel thinking our US trip was dead & buried. Fast forward to the present, & a new plan in place... we've had to book hotels relatively last minute (landing at MCO on the 12th August, after two weeks out of the UK). Does anyone think hotel prices may drop the closer we get to our dates? Currency arrived today, BA tickets now showing on my app... it's all starting to feel real 🙂 Edited at 07:19 PM. |

We'll be there... on the 12th 🙂 Flights are all booked. We'll have been out of the UK for 15 nights, so as long as our covid tests are negative, we'll be landing at Orlando.

Now is probably as good as they're going to get. Domestic travel demand is through the roof, combined with hospitality staff shortages, could lead to some pretty high rates.
But if they're refundable bookings, no harm in keeping an eye on them. |

Agree with loldis and also consider that most if not all of your 21-nights in Orlando will still be during the US summer school break.
Also, without knowing what type of hotel you've booked and also if renting a car it's difficult to answer with other options. Have you booked Disney or Universal hotels or hotels in area's like Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee and International Drive, also what's your average nightly or weekly rate? Once you're safely in Orlando you might find lower rates especially non-refundable rates so it's good to have a number of smaller split stays booked even if it's at the same hotel. Not sure of your budget but also worth keeping an eye out for last minute DVC rentals, dvcrequest/dvc-guests/de...tions-for-rent or on some of the Facebook groups renting DVC confirmed reservations. Aug 12th for 7-nights in an Old Key West studio for $1,751 or Aug 23rd for 3-nights at $663. If you're flexible you might pick up at a price reduction nearer a check-in date for a few nights. Stay safe and have an amazing trip. |

Probably not , the American market books much later than Europeans do so the best rates are early rather than late bookings . The domestic market is busy then as it’s still summer peak so demand will still be high .
I’d not hold out for any bargains , unless you are prepared to use Hotwire which are non refundable. |

Thank you for the info.
We're Hilton Honors Diamond, so stick with Hilton everywhere we go. So we're at £66 a night in Cancun, and £71 in a Hilton on Seaworld Drive. We get breakfasts included. We've got two nights in Memphis, and thats just crazy money, yet Orlando has a lot more hotels, so more competitively priced. Flying return for £168! for the four of us! 🙂 We're on refundable rates, so time will tell. Will post on the "August Workaround" thread as to how we get on. All the best 🙂 |
