Walt did not actually create the area or the culture that abounds within.. in fact when you look at Wilderness Lodge and his other now Derelict park, quite the contrary.. unless of course, there were some ‘Benjamins’ to be made!

Boggy Creek also has a (semi resident) Native American Indian on the site who has built a camp and does a rather informative, very humorous presentation of Native American Culture and History... and Gators of course.
Wow I just read your trip report, incredible ! Highlight was the patriotic boxies 😂 . Seriously thank you, brilliant pictures and some great ideas, got me googling all sorts of places now, really appreciate it 😊 thoroughly enjoyed binge reading your trip report after work today.

If you don’t mind a 90 minute drive, I can highly recommend Fort Desoto on the Gulf Coast. We have kayaked with Manatees, been close to dolphins, got closer to a Cottonmouth snake than I would have preferred and seen a fantastic array of wild birds. It’s also an award winning beach and historic area.
Plenty of YouTube videos to view.

One of the best bits for me is all the wildlife we see
Our first trip we definitely saw the most - stayed at Bahama bay and saw nightjars as we were driving in the very first night! Armadillo early the first morning
Raccoons, lizards and tree frogs as well as many different birds including a swallow tailed kite!
Over at Daytona beach we saw frigate birds
St Petes beach - dolphins and on the way over the bridges loads of ospreys!
Black vultures are everywhere
We saw a huge wild boar on our last visit
We ve seen a snake each time we ve played Disney golf, not sure what type - it was all black

It was a black racer my lovely neighbor donned the rubber gloves and fished it out and let it go on the retention area behind the villa
We also, have regular visits from Mr Frazier Crane and family and we've had to stop the traffic on the road into the villa to move the snapping turtles off the road

Many years ago I was staying at a villa with ds during his spring break and wondered what he was doing borrowing the neighbouring villas pool net - when he came back in he told me he didn’t want us evicted from the community for excessive noise as he had removed a black racer from the pool and put it on some grass away from the pool. He still has horrific memories of me screaming at Blizzard Beach when I saw one as we were exiting the park - I am snake phobic and can’t even abide anything snake like.

Hi yep love driving over there and plan to do a lot more of it so that's a great suggestion, thank you. What happened with the cottonmouth? I'm intrigued
