Spain - Fit to Fly Certificates

Hi,

At first glance it seems the Spanish requirement for a fit to fly cert. is for PCR and not antigen.

But, then I when I looked into it further I saw that also they accept a LAMP test fit to fly cert.

The Spain requirements are for the test sample to be taken no more than 48 hours before the flight and all these PCR testing centres have t&cs caveat on all of their tests that it could be 48 hours. They also have negative to reviews to be match from disgruntled passengers who missed their flight.

The LAMP test - £85 for 90 to 120mins.
The PCR test - typically £199 for a (hopefully) 12hr turnaround

But does anyone have any experience of LAMP tests?

You can get 3 hour pcr at airport for £95

Please be aware that the 48hrs is 48hrs from landing, not taking off. My daughter was refused to fly last Monday because her test ‘expired’ 1hr before landing.

We are flying to Menorca on 7th August. It’s just our 15 year old that needs the PCR test. Planning on staying over the night before ( Manchester) and getting him one of the rapid 2-3 hour PCR tests done at the airport the day before we fly. Anyone had one if these? Do the results really come back that quick?

My 14yo had one today, results were back by email just before 2 hours and was negative so we’re off on Sunday

How will you all find where to get a test done before you get back?
I’m looking to go to my mums house near Seville, but will need to book a test 3 days before coming back to UK.
I’m assuming I could get one at the airport, but not sure on costs.
Have you you been advised of costs?

I have found 3 places that do them near us.

The local facebook groups advised me. There are 2 medical centres in town. Starting at about 35euros pp.

Plus the airport does them. The airport is cheaper but I would prefer the test done before we pack and leave for the airport.

The other way is to book a uk one where you video conference. Which can be part of an ‘amber travel pack’.
