Jambo or Kidani standard 1 bedroom?
Hi all just wondered what fellow Dibbers think about these 2, which would you choose and why?
Our resale points have finally landed in our account and I’m itching to make the booking we need to do. Sadly in the time that it’s taken for Disney to transfer the points to our account the savannah view has gone We’ll be 2 adults and 2 children c9&13 if that makes a difference. From the research I’ve done it seems like the kidani units are slightly bigger and have a 2nd bathroom (always handy) but the resort is quieter and there’s no quick service option. Jambo 1 beds seem a little smaller but there is a quick service onsite and generally more going on. Are there plenty of common areas where you could sit and view the animals at both Jambo & Kidani?Which one is better? |

Kidani has the bigger rooms and 2 baths so if that is important go for that.
Room here, standard at Kidani: It's not much of a walk between the two, see here (this also shows you the standard rooms to the left of Jambo lobby - front elevation, and to the right of Kidani lobby- again front elevation): Here are some of the standard view rooms to the left of Kidani lobby, front elevation, overlooking pool (which is above camera level so you can't see it ): The hotel is nice, but I'm not a massive fan personally as there is nowhere to walk or run aside from between the two hotels. The pool at Jambo is nicer, the one at Kidani can have a bee problem depending on time of year. Gym at both. The hospitality house is on the ground floor of Kidani and is excellent, my son loved playing pool there. Common viewing area at both. The one at Kidani better I'd say as it has the fire pit and night vision, it is nice. This us the one at Kidani: Lobby grander at Jambo. Kidani a bit quieter. Edited at 12:52 PM. |

No probs.
They are slow at loading the points. I've now reached what I call the Eurovision stage with my latest one- contract actually showing, but nil points.

TBH I echo all of the above and we would always go for Kidani, But we are older fogies now, lol.
I suppose the splash area is probably a bit young for our two so maybe they would prefer the pool at Jambo. But there is outside table tennis by the pool, a slide and bar/ drinks station so you dont miss out. There is a drink station and small essentials section in the shop in Kidani too.

Twentyyears thank you. We’ve now gone for Kidani mainly due to the room size and extra bathroom 😉. It looks like we can always use the Jambo pool too if we prefer it, and we’ve never stayed at either before. We can always try Jambo next time. We’ve got a standard view as that was all that was left (at either) but have waitlisted savannah view in the unlikely event one comes up 🤞.
Thanks for your help. |

No problem, there is also a little lounge and viewing balcony spot near the laundry and clubhouse, all just off the main foyer. Also the bar in Sanna is a great place to have light fare and the bread service with a drink.
Don’t forget there is a shuttle between Jambo and Kidani, just ask bell services. We love the QS Mara at Jambo, great variety. Shuttle is also good for when you roll out of Boma! BTW we have eaten at all the restaurants at both but only did Boma breakfast on our last trip. If you time a late breakfast/brunch slot you do not not eat for the rest of the day- one of the best meals we had all trip!
