If using the US site you can sign up.
However I used net flights for flight and then car hire so no availability to do that.
However only 1 in front of me at line at desk in Boston 3 agents working paper done in 5 mins to line picked from reasonable choice and out garage all under 30 mins from collecting bags.
I have no issues going to a car hire desk as been to hundreds over the years mainly due to work and of course the vast majority of airports you have to go a desk somewhere along the line with all providers be it in the terminal or garage and interact with an agent.

Just to say a huge thanks to everyone for this thread and all the very patient answers, we have saved over £150 on car hire - amazing! A nice amount to add to our spends budget
