Mobile New DVC seasonal patterns

I’m reading that DVC have adjusted their seasons to encourage travel at other times of the year. If you are going next year it is worth logging in to see how or if it changes your points needed. (I’m sure YT can explain it better than me).

Mmm, good find well done.

It affects me by about 20 points on a quick glance. As they say some of my trips will be slightly lower but one in particular is higher.

All done for members benefit. Not!

However although I haven't run the maths I suspect they are within the T & C's of not increasing Points for a 1 year stay.

Is Zavander about?

Analysis already starting on the other board, Zavandor and the other 24 will no doubt be all over this. I’m currently on the train with intermittent signal so finding comparison impossible at the mo.

It's not ideal for us, but I can appreciate that the seasons weren't working as intended. I'm very glad that we bought more than we "needed" on our new contract.

I had been looking at taking family in October 2021 so had some numbers pulled off for studios and 2 beds. The studios have gone up by ~5% and the 2 beds by 10%. That's at VGF and Riv. I'm surprised to see a much bigger increase in 2 beds. Presumably they have a bigger drop somewhere else in the year to compensate.

Just had a look at the time we always go-11th-31st August. Looks the same for 2021 for Boardwalk in the rooms I have booked for 2020 but I'm not good with numbers so could be reading the chart wrong 😬😂

While with any reallocation there are winners and losers, this is 100% without any doubt within what they are allowed to do.
They haven't increased the lockoff premium and they haven't moved points from one room type to another (for example making bungalows less expensive and studios more expensive).

Also, the reallocation sort of makes sense. Summer went down, fall frenzy went up.
It is also probable that this is just the first step and they'll finish next year. They can only increase each night up to 20% each year.

We may not agree with every change, but this is day and night different from what they've done last year.

This works out well for me because my first two weeks in July will drop by 10 points saving me points each year! Quite happy for a change.

They're definitely within their rights as they can reallocate them as long as points are dropped from other booking categories or times. Disney teased about Studios going up last year and even released points charts. There was an immediate backlash and within a week or two Disney changed the points charts (not saying it was because of the backlash but it happened). I was expecting Studios to go up this year and they have with 2 Bedrooms coming down a little bit. It's never great when they change the points as it can hurt DVC members who are used to going at the same time and their points may have gone up but as others have stated, DVC is definitely within their rights.
