I really enjoyed reading your trip report it's been great to read about a family with older teens and young adults.
Having all your spends has been an eye opener as we last went when exchange was $1.6, I am interested to know if you saved money or spent about the same as if you'd booked a resort with free dining package.

We looked at paying for the dining package, but felt on this occasion it wasn't right for us. We were only at Disney for 8 days and we only had the 3 expensive meals there and one of them was a large share pizza. We wanted to try a lot more snacks.

We booked too late for Free Dining, so when we booked we got other offers instead.

Now if the dining package was free, it may have been a different story, but then if you pre-book all your reservations which you would do, you are quite tied to certain parks certain days and what with it being busier than expected and more rain than expected, we changed plans several times, so didn't want to be tied.

We last went when exchange rate was $1.6 too and the difference was horrible, it did make us think twice about things and then the exchange rate went down again because of the Election results when we were there. We have also been when it was $1.9, wow, now that was good.

Have really enjoyed binge reading all of your report the past day or so! You fitted in so much, thank you for all the tips with Uber etc - it sure appeared to make things easy to get around non Disney attractions.
It must have been lovely spending so much quality time together as a family.
