You can’t beat the beach if the weather is good.
A trip to the lighthouse / rockpooling. Spanish city for fish n chips. Or for a cheaper option get a takeaway and eat it on the beach (Whitley whaler or Pantrinis) Tynemouth market on the weekend. Further afield, we like cragside and wallington. These are getting good reviews. cbkadventure/

Weve just visited Northumberland Zoo. Was a nice few hours out (arrived 11:15 and left about 2:45). Some attractions closed due to covid, i.e lemur walk but rest still open. One way system. Cafe clean, spacious and reasonably priced. We did take a picnic but im terrified of wasps so ate in cafe as a little too many for my liking ( really brave of me going here as first outing ever since March). Pre booking is required.
