Scarefests

I wondered if anyone could recommend a scare fest for October half term. I don’t really like Alton Towers because I don’t do big rides. I have read on here that Thorpe Park has gone a bit rough ? Is there maybe something that isn’t in a theme park ?
We are NW England but don’t mind travelling. I do realise that events may be cancelled and I won’t book anything until nearer the time and also a cancellable hotel.

Thanks all !

We usually have a works night out to Scare Kingdom in Lancashire - gets excellent reviews (not been personally as it’s not my thing!)

Is this the one at Mrs Dowsons ?
I think if we aren’t going away anywhere daughter could go there with her friends and I would get out of it 😂

We’ve done Warwick Castle ,something for all ages .From talking pumpkins and headless horsemen to a walkthrough plague pit .
I don’t know if it will go ahead the year though.
Alton Towers Halloween stuff was largely kept separate when we went so you don’t have to see the scary stuff I’m not sure whether you had to pay extra. One of the mazes was in a corrugated tunnel all you could hear were people screaming and intermittent chain saws a guy came out he must have been about 18 or so and I he looked like he was going to cry .
We didn’t see any of the staff wandering around as advertised and the Halloween atmosphere wasn’t great .
