Didn't get our customised magic bands

Managed to get one of the customised magic bands a couple of months ago that were intermittently available on the my disney experience site (I got a birthday one and DH got an epcot one), paid the extra charge for it there and then.

But unfortunately when we arrived at our resort (POFQ) and checked in, the lady at the front desk looked at our wrists (we'd already put on a set of old bands to use at the magical express) and said 'i see you're all set with magic bands' and pointed us to our room. I told her that I'd ordered the special customised bands, but she just looked sheepish, and said she could see them on the system but they hadn't turned up. She checked out back but told us they weren't there. She also said it had happened to four other groups checking in today with no special bands turning up for them either.
We were obviously very disappointed and she did very kindly write us a disney cheque for two magic bands of our choosing from any of the disney shops in a any park or resort.

We got two nice patterned bands from epcot the next day (the cast member also said we could have got way more expensive ones if we'd have wanted as well inc the limited edition ones that were RRPing for about $55. But we liked the ones we'd chosen better).

I really just wanted to warn people in case the same happens to them. Because as nice as the cast member at the front desk was, it did seem like she would have been happy for us to go to our room without another mention of the bands we'd paid for, or getting a cheque as a replacement.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I saw a post recently where someone had a similar experience whereby the bands where not there to pick up.

Same happened to us in June at POFQ. The CM said lots of people were having problems and we didn’t even get any pixie dust to buy new ones!

We had the same in August, we’d only ordered the basic coloured ones but they couldn’t find them in the back so just gave what colours they had available. Not that end of the world but interesting that they weren’t even special ones that we’d ordered!

We didn't get ours either but that could have been because we were originally due to stay at the Camp Ground and got moved to AoA due to Dorian. The CM at check tried to get us a gift card to buy ones but the manager said that they cannot do that any more. So anyone who got cash at check in now is very lucky. We did get a refund though.

No ours were missing. Got a voucher to replace them but had to trek all the way over to Springs on our first evening to sort out. Not a great start
