Day One - Travelling

I hate this day, I'm a rubbish traveller but thanks to my wonderful doctor this flight might not be toooo bad

We set off at 6.30am with our lovely neighbour who was being our chauffeur to the airport

We checked in on our Virgin Atlantic flight Manchester to sunny Orlando

We upgraded for extra leg room £30 each - bargain

Our plane was Pretty Woman - nice to be flying on her for the 2nd time. Our flight was pretty uneventful apart from the woman in front of me reclined her seat 30 minutes into the flight for the whole damn journey - luckily the extra legroom made it not so uncomfortable for me. The chap infront of DH tried to recline his too but as my husband is 6'3" his knees promptly put a stop to that and he gave up

Anyway we landed safely at Orlando airport went through security with no problems and even shared a joke or too with the security guy which isn't normal at all

Cases collected we headed to Avis to collect our car - 20 minutes later we were sat in a smokey grey Cadillac DTS - mmmmmm I loved that car. Here she is:



A big thumbs up for Avis - great service

The drive to St Augustine was gorgeous and without any problems. We had a half hour stop at a Denny's and another half hour at the Walmart on the way. We finally arrived at our beach house at around 6.30pm just in time for an all mighty thunder storm

I instantly felt at home. The house was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. We settled down with a couple of beers and some peanut butter M&M's to watch Shark Bites on the Discovery channel
