Which day would you book Universal hotel?

Hi guys,

This is my third attempt at planning this holiday due to a sudden close member family death I have had to move the holiday from August 19 to September 19 to May 2020.

I am struggling to get my head back into planning again to be honest but I have to book all my dining next week so I need a rough plan of where ill be.

Sorry to waffle but what I want to ask is what day would you say is the best for my 1 night stay in universal to take advantage of the express pass? I want to get that hotel booked asap.

My dates are May 27th – June 10th 2020

Thanks guys.

Check the price for each date from the 1st onwards and go with the cheapest. (we always leave a couple of days at the start and try to avoid the weekend for crowds) Other than that any day should be fine.

Edited at 10:54 AM.

I would start by avoiding weekends and then have a look at the historical wait times over in the Dibb menu to see which days tend to be the quietest over that period. I think I would also choose your second week to avoid any hangovers from the Memorial Day visitors.

What times are your flights and are you doing Disney resorts for the rest of the stay or a villa or off site?

I would avoid the weekend, other than that I can’t see it making a huge difference. I would go in your middle week so 2/3 June.

Hi,

We are onsite at POFQ for the rest of the stay.

It depends on your flights.

Option A - If your flight to MCO is a later one, get a budget airport hotel for the first night and then go to Universal the next day and checkin early and leave your luggage bell. This gives you 2 full days at Universal.

Option B - If your flights home are late in the evening, then go to Universal at the end of your stay. You wouldnt have a full day on your second day though.

I’m assuming you’re keeping your room at POFQ and popping to universal for 1 night in the middle (ish) of your stay.
I’m the opposite to others, I’d go at the weekend, reason being we found the Disney parks busy at the weekends so it was nice to escape to universal then. Because you get the Fastpasses it didn’t really matter if it was busy at universal or not.
I also wouldn’t go too late in your holiday in case you want to visit universal again (if you have 14 day passes).

The weekends are usually pricier nights I think Sun-Thu are the most economical

Yes i second this! We have booked next year for the Fri-Sun and although we are yet to do this i figured if we are having the express pass we may as well use it on a busier day... I could regret this

Parks are notoriously busy at weekends so we didn't want to waste our first few days avoiding parks, waking super early and not really having much planned but of course it's all personal preference
