Cruise Refunds

Hi

I was due to sail on the Celebrity Edge on 5th April and was given the option of 125% FCC or refund. We opted for the refund and was told it was taking up to 30 days. From the date that I received my acknowledgement of cancellation email to 30 days worked out to be 17th April. I still haven't received any refund apart from excursions which I cancelled before the cruise was officially cancelled.

Has anyone who had a cruise booked in March / April received any refunds yet?

On The Disunplugged they did a show about the Disney Cruise Line refunds and FCC . They said it could take up to 90 days for refunds to be processed. This is because the refunds have to go through the accounts department and are manually processed, compared to a cancellation before paid in full which can be done by the customer service agent on the phone.

I rang last Friday after receiving an email from DCL that our May cruise was cancelled. As we have a couple more booked I opted for the refund and they said up to 30 days but the money went back in on Friday so just a week.

I’ve emailed this afternoon again and received a reply within half an hour. They have said I should receive the full amount within the next 48 hours. They requested the refund on 11th.

My RCL refund was requested on 25/3 but I was told 30-60 days. I am on 25 days now so won’t chase for a while yet.

I cancelled RC cruise for Aug and had refund within 21 days.

I was meant to be cruising on Celebrity Silhouette on 1st May and opted for the refund on 26th March and haven't had a thing yet!

I booked through Iglu for ours which was due to leave yesterday, they acknowledged my email and said they will work through the requests in date order. I’m not expecting it any time soon from what I’ve read.

Nothing yet, our April 3rd cruise got cancelled on March 15th, we asked for refund, not credit note, I chased my travel agent on 17th April got told, you have a credit note coming... I said no we requested refund, she just said it will take time. We have had nothing from Celebrity. I am getting really frustrated! I have put a claim in with the card we paid on (Starling).

I wonder if the delays are for those people who booked through Travel Agents maybe? You have a second level of refund needed through TAs as in it gets refunded from company then TA refund in most cases so this could be why its taking a little longer than expected maybe or it is just the amount they are dealing with.
