Stick with AOA, or upgrade to CSR?

So, first trip in November 2021, all being well. When I booked, I booked AOA because at that time, I thought I wanted 24/7 Disney, and saw a good deal on a Little Mermaid room.

As time has gone on, I've begun to realise this may not be the best hotel for me. I'm a solo traveller, I'm visually impaired and use a white cane in busy places/at night. I've heard SO much about how far the LM rooms are from everything.

So I was playing around on the Disney UK site, getting a rough idea of flight costs as my dates aren't out yet and I'm thinking of booking through Disney for ease of moving things if needed. Saw that Coronado seemed to not be that much more than AOA, on the dummy dates, so checked my actual dates, minus flights and it works out around £40 a night more. Plus there's more dining options and activities going on. I'm tempted.

I was going to do premium economy flights, but I'm now thinking, use the money to upgrade the hotel instead? Lovely Dibbers, I'd love your thoughts on both hotels, help me decide!

The Little Mermaid rooms aren’t too far away from everything. Only about 5 minute walk and it’s a really easy walk. Coronado Springs is huge though so you might end up in one of the rooms further away from everything but you can use the buses. If you watch videos on YouTube of resort tours, you’ll be able to get a good idea of the resorts. That might be help you out making a decision! We’ve just moved our Feb holiday to Sept and moved from Pop to CS because it was actually cheaper!

Out of the two we’ve only stayed at AOA in a little mermaid room and they are the furthest away from reception food court and bus stops.
There’s no coffee machine in the room so it’s a bit of a trek to get a coffee in the morning.
If Iwe stayed there again we’d take a travel kettle with us
We were only there for 3 nights and both thought it was just ok

Good to know the walk isn't as bad as some reviews say! I suspect I'm worrying over nothing on that front. I'm still really torn though - part of me thinks, I've saved enough to do it, this may be my only trip for a few years, and to just do it!

I kind of discounted moderate resorts because I was looking purely on price when I booked. I've seen a few videos and I love AOA for how bright it is, but CSR looks like somewhere I could spend a little down time, if that makes sense? I don't tend to do full pool days when I holiday, but I like the odd late start or afternoon chill.

I've got some thinking to do - I can't book flights yet so I've got some time to watch more videos, read up some more and can decide then.

I would move to Coronado Springs. The new tower looks amazing with the new bar and restaurants and so does the new bar/restaurant on the lake
