Take him shopping, go through the next website looking at clothes with him or tell him to choose some clothes from the book. I’d let him take his dads pants, he might need them or miss his dad. I would sit and have a pizza night with him and maybe watch a film, but if he doesn’t want to do that leave him to his own devices. My nephew was missing his dad as a child and was cuddling his shoe which sounds weird I know but his parents had split up and he was insecure. He’s a strapping 30 year old lad now with no problems. I think your grandson needs help and love from you but also space sometimes xxx

I take it son and wife are divorced and son has custody? Does he ever see his mother? In an old post you said he had a sister, who looks after her? Perhaps he just feels like a square peg in a round hole. I would give him some money and let him buy what he needs

My Son was a similar age when he got his first pair of CK undies and he would tumble them and wear them as often as possible. He is at the age he would like people to know he has branded stuff. Sports Direct online often have good deals on them, I would maybe get him a couple of pairs of his own for Xmas.

If his dad bought him all his martial arts stuff, why not get his Dad to send him a bundle of socks undies and maybe mens toiletries as a thinking of you and how fast your growing up present?

His behaviour doesnt sound odd to me especially in his circumstances bless him.

If I were you I would try to relax a bit.

He has every right to see, use, look through his dads clothing, more so than you in my opinion.

Go buy the kid some undies, t-shirts, track suits etc...

Other excellent advice given by others, if I were you I would act on it. Good luck.

It sounds to me like he's missing his dad and this is his way of feeling close to him. You come across to me as strict, not very understanding, so perhaps he's afraid to talk to you.

He is missing his Dad either ask his Dad to send stuff for him, let him use his Dad;s stuff and give him money to go buy clothes himself. my daughter age 9 wouldn't wear a vest so no wonder a 14 year old won't!

Reminds me of boarding school, we had to wear a vest and liberty bodice until we were at least 13yrs

I don't want to be harsh but you seem to see this lad as your son's son and not your grandson and I feel you only have him living with you to help your son. I don't know the backstory but it seems very strange to me, but then I adore my grandsons for themselves so maybe I am misunderstanding in which case I apologise.
