After a night flight, anyone booked into a hotel for a few hours?

That is what we did last summer to and from LGW because the cost of travel by train for 4 of us was marginally less than using the car, fuelling it and parking it. Travel times were identical. We had 2 changes Penryn, Truro and Reading. The journey was fine. We still stayed at Prem Inn the night before in order to risk manage, but caught the train straight home.

This Easter from LHR, the maths are different and in any case we want to stop at Salisbury to see my Son on the way up. We will drive up and stay the night before (risk management). Coming home, we will spend a night in the Bath Rd Prem Inn (£29 a family room) in order to recover.

Yes the bloc have family rooms but you only get them for day use on the day.
Double rooms can be booked in advance if you search the check in and check out as the same. Think they are around £40 for 7 or 8am until 4pm.
Family rooms are £57.
If you email them, they are very helpful and quick to reply.

Also just to point out Bloc bunk beds are only for under 12's which is frustrating ;(

We have booked hotels before and after our trip but stayed until the next day then drove home. Extends the holiday a bit longer 😊😊😊😊

we just book a night at an airport hotel with a plea for early admission to our room in a quiet part of the hotel. we sleep until 5ish, then shower and go down to dinner for 7pm. by 10/11pm, we are ready for bed again and wake up refreshed next day and our body clock resets too!

We did this at The Bewley, Manchester last year.
Unfortunately no-one told the cleaning staff.
Bed for half eight and woken when the noise of the trolleys and general chitchat in the corridor.Tried to ignore this but felt obliged to answer the door to the maid banging on the door at 11am. Told her it was a day room and closed the door. I'd just dozed over when woken again 20 minutes later to a supervisor asking why we'd not left our room.I was very polite considering how tired and sleepy I was. Back to sleep but woken by the phone with the manager apologising 😂
Now this might be my fault coz when telling the supervisor how unhappy I was I think I said I might as well get up and go home. I told the manager this was now what I would be doing so we showered and left.
Luckily I'm ok after 3-4 hours sleep so was ok to drive . The manager was very apologetic and refunded the cost of the room. He also promised a special deal if we contact him before booking again.
We're getting picked up this year !

To be fair maybe we should have put the do not disturb sign on the door but thought they this should be a given for a booked day room.
