Magic band essential for EMH?

Hi there

We have one night at AoA tomorrow night. So far we haven’t used a magicband. I know we can make use of EMH both days of of our stay. But do we need a magic band for tomorrows EMH? It just saves us going to AoA at 6am to collect them and then go to AK, rather than straight to AK? Will showing them MDE app be enough for access?

Thanks

Your going to need the magic band, otherwise they can’t verify that you are you, and that no one else will be using your magic band to enter on the same ticket.

I don't think showing MDE is going to work, but you presumably have park tickets already, I don't know that Magic Bands are ever compulsory.

Hey x bit of an update for those who want to know in the future!

You don’t need a magicband for EMH as long as you have checked in online.
I messed up and got to AoA after a super duper early start (not helped by coming to the park an hour early... kids not happy!) Forgot my passport and any ID! So they wouldn’t release our magic bands! But assured me it isn’t essential.
Now in the cue in AK for EMH, the assistant did a quick check and confirms it works.
In fact we are looking around us and there’s are many people who aren’t wearing one, assuming they don’t want to be monitored by the mouse?! Lol

So In future I would go straight to the park and collect the band when we get there for the evening x

You should be able to use anything linked to your MDE account. That can be a plastic ticket. As long as when the plastic ticket is scanned it shows in your MDE account that you have an onsite reservation then that's all you need. Remember that the MagicBand doesn't store any information and therefore contains no more information than a plastic ticket will - the info is all online in your MDE account.

Obviously, you either need a plastic ticket or MagicBand to enter the parks. You need to scan something at the park entrance. So as long as you've got one or the other then you should be fine.

I assume you had plastic tickets instead?

Sorry, to be clear I meant showing them our MDE to show our hotel reservation to confirm we are able to EMH, along with our tickets x
Just off FoP, wow! Worth getting up super early!

Scanning your tickets would've shown that you had a hotel reservation for that day. Just as scanning your MagicBand would. Both provide the same information.

Usually you don't have to show them your MDE account on your phone. Usually you just scan a ticket or MagicBand.

Glad you enjoyed FoP.

in the future, just re-use the magic band you currently have

as long as the next reservation is on the same MDX account, your "old" (current) MB will still work for park entry and even room entry
