I went Friday to Tesco to buy my usual weekly shop(so got a large piece of meat for xmas day) and the only thing extra I got was a tin of Cadbury chocolates and a profiterole desert (we dont normally do puddings). This is the first year I haven't got any extra stuff like tins of quality street or nibbles as in my house they get left for months then I throw them out. I am aware that I sound like a scrooge but none of us are feeling christmasy this year and now my children are older they appreciate more how much unnecessary spending we do for one day so said to me dont bother .I didnt need telling twice

I did a normal weekly shop yesterday as it’s just me and my 2 dd’s, so no extra food required. We are just having our usual Sunday Roast on Wednesday instead.

We picked up the turkey in Costco today but have to do the 'big shop' in Asda in the morning. I just looked up what time it opens and its at midnight tonight!

I took my mum this morning at 10.30. It was busy, but bearable. I only went along because she can't drive at the moment... we're not hosting anything until the 27th, and I will shop for that on the day. I still managed to spend £75 though

We have most of ours, we buy it throughout December. We are going out tomorrow to get fresh vegetables and salad, milk, eggs, bread and a few bits that we haven’t got yet, we will probably spend around £50-60. Not rushing out early though, will probably get to Morrisons around 10am. It’s busy whatever time you go so I don’t stress about it, as long as the shop is well stocked I do get stressed if there’s no sprouts left 😭

Picked up most bits in the weeks gone, just have a farmshop order (rib of beef, sausage, fresh bread) to collect tomorrow morning and a small Morrison’s order (salmon mousse, pate, fresh cream, croissants and cheese) delivered tomorrow afternoon... so hopefully no need to brave the shops till next Monday ready for our New Year’s Eve party...

We celebrated Christmas today before DD heads home to celebrate with her BF & his family.
It's a real reduced pressure affair. No rushing to find food dates for the 25th. If I forget something DH can pop to the shop. I highly recommend it.

We did ours yesterday at Tesco. Was busy but not as busy as normal as weather was awful so I think that kept some people at home!
My best Christmas shop ever - came to £160 but then reduced by 10% for Tesco clubcard extra, £50 worth of reward vouchers from work and £65 of Tesco club card vouchers. Ended up paying £30! Very happy with that
