First one I bought was She Loves You by the Beatles as a 45rpm single. Now I'm feeling old!

Were CDs around then? I had it on tape (bought in a PX in Florida) in 1981
God I love that album. It got me through some dark times over the years, and when we saw Phil Collins at British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park a couple of years ago, he sang some of the songs and I sobbed all the way through them …...

We saved up and bought one of the first 'stacking' units that had a CD player, radio, and turntable. It cost an arm and a leg! But it was amazing, we had only been married a couple of years and were watching telly on a black & white portable at the time, but music took precedence for us!

Mine was Three Times a Lady by The Commodores in 1978, I felt so grown up buying my very first record! I bought it in a shop in Rotherham called Circles used to go in for hours and listen to the latest songs in the little booths they had with the headphones in!
