Exact same as mine. I had champagne and my dh had Irn Bru which we had to take with us as we got married in Vegas. Same yesterday, I had champagne for dinner and he had his bru.
It took years for my dh to eat any food that came with a sauce that contained alcohol as he thought it was still alcoholic, but he eventually believed me that it was burned off during cooking, but he still won’t touch desert with alcohol in them, not even Sherry trifle or tiramisu. If we go out for a meal he always has a black coffee and sparkling water. Edited at 01:15 PM. |

I still can't taste anything so I stayed off the good stuff yesterday and drank Snowballs and Asti - as I can now tell the difference between sweet, creamy and savoury things even if there's no taste.

There is nowt wrong with a good cup of tea, goes with any meal. Mind, it has to be decent tea (Yorkshire or Ringtons).

I'm in that minority that is very much team tea!
In fact it's a bit of a joke with my work colleagues. I arrived at an end of term jaunt (think it was Teacher New Year) and ordered my dinner at the bar before heading upstairs to join my peeps. I met one of the deputes at the bar who insisted on buying me a drink, absolutely fine. So I head upstairs, jovial greetings all round, someone pulls me over a seat and then one of the wait staff appears with my cutlery for my food and my drink of choice - a cup of tea. I got utterly ripped for it - even though there was a gin coming immediately behind it. I am a complete lightweight so don't really drink till I've eaten. I had a few drinks that night but I was not allowed to forget the tea when we returned to work |
