Anyone got their credit balance from People’s energy transferred over to British Gas yet?

Does anyone know what they are talking about with this stuff as I have no clue whatsoever.
I moved house reasonably recently and I’m on a variable with octopus.
Elec 21.04 and a 23.5p standing charge
Gas 3.84 and 23.85

This seems very expensive, but am I best sticking with it? Fixed seems mad

The prices you see are 21.04p per kwh and 23.5p a day standing charge for leccy and 3.84/kwh 23.85 per day standing charge.

I'm with BG and my charges are 20.68/kwh and 24.123sc elec and 4.169kwh and 26.123sc so yours seem slightly cheaper than mine but about right in the current climate.

I've tried price comparison sites and the best deal for me is £1,000 a year more than my current rate.

I would suggest having a look at Moneysavingexpert.com website for Martin Lewis' summary or his tv programme (the Martin Lewis Money Show Live from 6/1) on catch up for his thoughts and advice.

Payments will rocket at the end of any fixed deals but staying on or reverting to standard rates seems to be "best deal" for most people at moment.

(Sorry meant to quote Mitch84 but can't seem to edit to add it!)

Ours are similar with Shell Energy

20.07p with SC 26.82P
3.983p with SC 26.11p

Our bill was £106, went to £164 when our tarriff ran out in November, and they want £266 to lock in for 2 years.

I’m not locking in ... may live to regret that choice ! 😂
My gut tells me prices will come back down 6 months

Any reason why not? Wholesale prices predicted to rise 50% in the spring.

Just think the fixed deals that are being offered now are ridiculously expensive. Would rather take a gamble on the variable price cap.

We were offered a deal at three times more than we currently pay.

Something I have just watched is the difference in running cost of dryers, vented are always the worse followed by condenser and then heat pump. On using the dryer just 3 times a week it can be about £75 difference per year between condenser and heat pump, and the more you use it the bigger the difference. We can do on average 6 lots per week.

We're following Martin Lewis's advice, he usually talks sense. He says probably best not to fix at the monent. We're now with Octopus, ex Avro. Still waiting for a bill.
