I understand that Disney has a family market but they could raise the bar just a little bit in dress code and standards when they want to run a fine dining restaurant. We don’t and don’t want to get dressed up for every meal, but when we do, it only enhances the experience. I like CA casual but never seen a cap in a restaurant or kids on games. I am not known for holding my tongue and expect certain standards when fine dining = I did it as a child so than can appeal to that market ie families who have standards ! I hope you get another opportunity to wear your smart outfits at an establishment that values you as guests and not send you to the naughty tables |

We had a father aggressively ‘play’ fighting with his young boy in the seating area by the door as you enter Napa Rose. It was not the environment we expected. All was forgotten when we went into the dining room for the meal, but I didn’t want or expect to see that in a fine dining establishment. My friends said I shouldn’t expect better in a Disney environment - but I did. The food and service though was amazing - very unlike Claudette’s experience.
Your Monte Christo was different to the ones I had in 2011, 2017 and 2019 but I love the immersiveness of Blue Bayou (and yes Captain Jack’s is so similar! )

I just checked out the napa menu and for a signature dining experience the menu is really poor.

Day 11: Oga’s Cantina
I booked two Oga’s Cantina slots when booking first became available. However a few weeks ago it seems a number of us on the dibb had our bookings for this week cancelled, both of mine were but at least I was sent a $25 gift voucher for each cancellation.
I had been trying to rebook ever since but didn’t manage to find anything until this morning and funnily enough was rebooked for the same date and time as one of my original bookings. Nev and I have not been to Oga’s Cantina in Orlando so we’re keen to try this one out. We managed to book Smuggler’s Run for just before and a Rise of the Resistance for just afterwards so it was very much a Star Wars afternoon. There were lots of people hanging around outside Oga’s, primarily those without reservations and as mentioned regarding elsewhere, it is difficult to get noticed as a guest with a booking. I had to make a bit of a nuisance of myself and it seemed to work as we got one of the tables rather than a stand up spot. We ordered a Blurrgfire and a Fuzzy Tauntaun. Very nice, though the latter caused Nev’s lips t go numb. |

I love trying interesting and new cock/mocktails once and both of those look worth trying to me but I really am a very(i.e. bone) dry martini kind guy with the odd espresso martini shown in winter time and porn in summer

Re the Monte Christo sandwich, I tried it on 1st LA Disney trip, definitely weird! Not keen as I didn't like the sweet and savoury together. I see you can get it in MK in Florida but will give it a miss 😂

Glad we tried it. We would go again, but it wouldn’t need to be every trip for us. A bit like Rise of the Resistence.
They were both nice, it was hard to know what to choose though. I think that was Nev’s problem, he doesn’t understand maple sauce with bacon and waffles either. That is either way over my head or posted on wrong thread. |

We have always said we would never be one of those couples that coordinates T-shirts.
