Us to, we have a car for a fortnight or so and then plan a few days at US, so dumping the car to avoid paying both car hire and parking. I couldn't find a good price from a US hotel though, so dumping it down the road at a Hilton and will just uber to the parks. Reckon its saved another £200 ish.

We are at universal for the first nine days so decided to pick the car up at Cabana Bay before we move to the Hard Rock. Save on some of the parking and the cost from MCO, then drop it off at MiA.

I booked a few weeks ago with Avis preferred and got a people carrier for £510 (11 days hire) it’s now £2124!

If you email Andy you'll likely get a better price.

That way you can offset the no resort parking fee from the uber cost.
Cars seem cheaper from universal aswell
We’re also doing this. First 8 days at universal and then picking up a car when we check out before heading over to Disney.
We there Easter week and whilst it’s still more expensive than pre covid, Andy sorted us out with a price that wasn’t too eye watering and was quick and responsive.

Contact Andy direct, andy@discountfloridacarhire.co.uk, with your dates, times, pick up, motor type and ask for an offline quote, which is oft lower than his website rates. He recently halved a friends £2k, 26 day mid size rental, plus his £1k rate included a tank of fuel and additional drivers.

It’s insanity. New cars are selling for way above the MRSP…by $1000s. Car forecourts are practically empty .

Used cars have increased to again by 1000s

The 2019 car we bought our 16 year old last year is selling for $5000 more than we paid.

Unfortunately, if what I'm hearing is correct, Alamo will shortly be increasing their prices again, which I'm sure will lead to the other rental companies increasing theirs.

I can foresee Uber/Lyft services being very much in demand next summer.

And with higher demand comes higher prices due to surge pricing
