Gatwick South Terminal - when does it re-open

This doesn't sound like a car hire/transportation thread, but it relates to parking.

I have Valet Parking at South Terminal booked from 1st May 2022. When I look online now, the Valet option is not available. I'm guessing that this is because the South Terminal is not open yet.

I'm trying to contact Gatwick Parking (they have no email address, and I was on hold for a while before I gave up!) to see what the situation is. I know May is a few months away yet, but I'm finally starting to get into planning mode!

When I was there last month, they were refurbishing it and it didn't look anywhere near complete. I can't see it opening before the summer tbh, and even that is assuming demand picks up enough to need both terminals operating again.

If that's with BA, they are still operating from the North. They may surprise me and open earlier but there really aren't enough flights running right now.

I guess it’s not too much of a problem if it’s North Terminal in May - just a few minutes on the monorail.
I’ve also got the Bloc hotel booked for the night before at South terminal - hope that’s OK!

It is yes.

To be honest, I don't think it would bother me that much if they changed the terminal. It would just be nice to know in advance!

I believe Bloc is open. From memory, there was a small path into that side of the south terminal that was still accessible. All of check in was boarded off, and most of the shops are still shuttered. Think it's just the Boots open.

North is operating as usual though, except for a few restaurants that ceased operating in 2020.

Yes, that part is fine as it's technically outside of the terminal.
