Hotel booking sites 'full' but hotel direct available?
Hi folks, just wondering if you come across this problem much. I've been trying to book a particular hotel for next October through the likes of Expedia, via Quidco to get cashback, but it keeps saying no availability, yet directly with the hotel is available.
Just wondering if this is normal and perhaps rooms are released to these hotel sites at a later stage? Many thanks |

Some third party sites don't always release their rooms at the time you might want to book them. Some will release them less than 12 months (sometimes less) in advance (a bit like flight availability) . If you check these sites again in a few weeks they most likely will show availability.

The funny thing is, site was showing room availability but when you followed it through there were none.
I'll probably book through the hotel on a free cancellation basis and keep an eye on the comparison sites. |

Book direct with the hotel.
Booking sites will take a block of rooms and once they are gone they are gone, its how they can get away with saying "Last room left" to make you book when in theory there are loads of rooms but its the last one that particular site has left. |
