Again... a picture message. But I think you only need to use it in the UK...

I have dual SIM phone so installed free 123 SIM a while ago (had to go in slot 1 for some reason). Did an initial £10 top up then made a quick call to activate (you have to make a call/text I think every 6 months to keep account alive). So balance then £9.97. Travelling soon so did another £20 top up then did the 12 gig 30 day add-on (knocking £20 off the balance again but leaving £9.97 in case I need to make a chargeable call). After 30 days the add-on ends leaving the SIM as a payg with £9.97 on it.

If I should need to call a US number I'm guessing I can avoid the £1.40 per minute cost by dialing the UK ZipCall access number first to use the included minutes? Anyone have experience of this? Thanks

Yes. Just make a call to activate. Never had any issues. U don’t get 4g network if I remember. U only get 3g but it’s quick enough to use. Best thing is if I call home it’s within the minutes from the bundle so it’s free. I also make sure I have extra £5 credit in case I need to call a US number while I’m there but I would avoid it unless it’s absolutely necessary as it cost about £1.50 a min.

I've never had any issues with 3 in the USA in fact it works better in Orlando than it does back home in the UK.

Again we have 3 for use in USA here now and no pronlems, if we need to maje a call in the USA use zipcall, it comes out of your uk mins and does not cost anything, we just top up every 6 months just to keep number active, saves buying a new sim each time.

What is zipcall? Does it work around the world? Or just USA 🇺🇸? I travel a lot so it could save me some pennies

I had one this summer in Bali. I just called my wife at home to activate it and it worked brilliantly. I didn’t even bother logging onto hotel wifi. I’ll be using go roam every year from now on.

we've just bought and used 2 x "3" sim £10 deals online and configured them a couple of days before we went (they only have a 1 month validity period)
we never had any issues and for £10 each the fact we don't have to worry about wifi makes life so much easier.
Always got decentish 4g , not great inside though, although it's mobile so why would it be?
Over 9 days I used about 2.5 gb of data, lots of google maps and i downloaded atleast 1 app whilst in Gatwick!
Frankly for that cost the cheap peace of mind is worth it. BTW set our UK voicemail with a temp greeting telling people our new number and not too leave a message on the old one and it surprisingly worked!
