San Fran, Anaheim, Hollywood - help needed!

Hi all,

Planning a west coast trip for the first time 😬

Planning to fly in and out of San Fran, business flights and 6 nights at Fisherman’s Wharf in June coming in at £2kpp which I thought was decent.

So, this is what we want to do;

Nights 1-6 San Fran, Alcatraz, bike the Golden Gate Bridge, bus tour, Fisherman’s Wharf, day trip to Napa Valley, Day trip to Yosemite.

Day 7- 10 internal flight to LAX taxi to Anaheim and then spend 3 nights at Grand California (we’re DVC) for Disney.

Day 10-12 taxi back to Hollywood, Warner brothers tour, universal and walk of fame.

Day12/13 flight back to San Fran then shopping.

How does that sound? Where should I stay in Hollywood, are all those things in the same area?

Edited at 06:00 PM.

Taxi from LAX to Anaheim would be very expensive, have you thought of hiring a car, would be easier for you to get around.

We’ve found taxis to be around $70. Uber has been as little as $45 and as much as $110 (! )

If you’ve not already booked internal flights OP I highly recommend going into SNA which is closer to Disneyland and very small so easy to get in and out of. Our massively expensive Uber journey above took 25 minutes to get out of LAX because it was so rammed, awful.

That sounds like a great plan (or the other way round if you want to finish in Disneyland).

Hollywood did nothing for me

Yes I don’t hear good things but DD wants to do WB studio tour and Universal so thought we’d give it a go.

We really enjoyed the WB tour, but a lot of it is current to US series so we were a little out of date. We stayed in the Loews Hollywood Hotel which was the same block as the chinese theatre and dolby theatre and walkable to the Hollywood Bowl. Very touristy but nice rooms. We ate in the attached shopping mall.

If you are up early there was a walking group that you can sign up for (if at Grand Californian) to walk around Californian Adventure before it opens. The pace is fast but was worth it. No cameras allowed. The GC free building tour is also interesting if you have time. The building is stunning and worth taking some time to look around. We also did one of the tours (walk in walt's footsteps I think) which was worth it just to see inside his apartment.

There is also the Walt Disney Family museum next to the Golden Gate bridge which is worth a visit if you have time.

Hi we would suggest , if you can drive to do it slightly differently.
Cut your days in San Fran to 4 to include 1 day for nappa.
Then drive to yosemite which is 4 hours, do the valley floor tour and stay the night, do some exploring the next morning and leave in the afternoon and head to Monterey for the night. Fit in whale watching if you can. The next morning take in 17 mile dr,aquarium,Carmel and pebble beach. The next morning start driving down the coast which is spectacular , pick somewhere to stay ,perhaps Santa Barbara and then follow your plans after this. And then fly home from LA.

A day trip from SAN Fran to Yosemite is very ambitious. It’s an awful long way!
