Refund or Voucher

We are due to travel on June 30th to Miami then on to Orlando for 3 weeks. Don’t have any accommodation booked yet and are going to cancel our BA flights .

Looking for advice as to the best option for cancelling.
Do we take a full refund or ask BA for a voucher ?

If BA haven't cancelled the flights then you are only entitled to a voucher or a very limited amount of refund. If BA do cancel the flight then you can get a full refund. So be careful and advise that you check out how much money you would get back before cancelling.

I thought I read the other day that a lot of Miami flights had been going. If your flight is operating, you won’t get an option for a refund and will have to take a voucher.

It looks like there are 2 daily flights to Miami from Heathrow at present, BA & American Airlines. Virgin are running 1 flight per week on a Thursday.

As has been stated above, if your flight is operating then you will have to accept a voucher - it's not worth cancelling as you will only be entitled to a refund of the APD tax & any carrier imposed charges (i.e. what used to be the fuel surcharge) unless you are on a fully flexible fare code (unlikely).

I would not mind taking a voucher from BA as they are highly unlikely to go under, so You will be able to redeem it. I'd probably have a few reservations accepting a voucher from Virgin Atlantic as their financial situation is not as solid as BA's.
