New Year’s Day at the latest in our house. My birthday is the following day and I don’t like Christmas and birthday clashing!

Mrs MH has taken them down (apart from the outside ones - that's my job), and now I have to carry them to my loft bedroom and clear the furniture to get to the hidden door to under the eaves to store them for next year

5th January - I love them, there's no way I'm taking them down early.
It's meant to be bad luck if you leave them up after the 12th night, not if you take them down before. So as nobody really seems to know if the 12th night is either the 5th or the 6th, I usually take ours down on 5th January. If you don't take them down by the 12th night, you are meant to leave them up all year. One year both MIL and myself forgot one small decoration each and we left them out all year.

Was going to wait until Wednesday but have done them today as we had a real tree that was looking a bit tired ( though it hadn’t dropped any needles ) . Christmas just wasn’t the same this year so not sorry to see them put away.

I’m back to work on 5th, so might take them down on Monday. Although i am tempted to leave them all up until my granddaughters can come over! My tree still looks great! And i made a garland for the stairs which is rose gold and not specifically Christmas, it looks lovely, so that can stay! Although sheds glitter like crazy!
I hate the bareness when the decs go away!
