I set up a Monzo current account for my holiday spends. There are no charges for using your Monzo debit card abroad. I've not heard any bad press and have experienced no issues myself either.

We had the Fairfx card but changed to the Starling card a few years ago.
No transaction fees, interest on money on your card and excellent exchange rate.
To be fair we had no issues with Fairfx but we find Starling better.

I used post office card for one Orlando trip, realised that the exchange rate was awful and never used again.

We've currently got Fairfx and Revolut, but not been for 2 years so I'll be following.

I always have a look at the MSE site for up to date steers re the best cards.

I think I'll have a look at Monzo.

We have used the Post Office travel card for the last few years, in US, Canada and Spain, and never had any issues.

I use Fair FX and still have a decent amount on for my next trip.

I will also use my Nationwide CC as they have decent rates and no fees for purchases abroad.

I used the post office card in Gran Canaria. Never again. On multiple occasion the transaction wouldn’t go through. Used FairFX in 2016 without issue. Was thinking of getting the Halifax Clarity card which is a credit card but when I went through Martin lewis website to see if I’d be approved it said I wouldn’t be.🤷🏼 I have no idea why that would be the case given my credit score is significantly higher than the national average and currently have no credit card or store card debt.
