Yes I would. As soon as the mask mandate is lifted then my mask is lifted. However, if others want to continue wearing masks that's their business. I'm concerned with how political mask wearing has become especially in the US with talking heads on tv suggesting all sorts of things as far as reporting kids in masks to child protection so my hope is that we all go ahead and make our own decision and don't police one another. If I lived in the US I would have been flying throughout the pandemic so you can bet that when I am double jabbed and all those around me who want it are jabbed too then I will be very content to fly without a mask. At the moment I think the CDC requirement will not be extended in October.

At the moment I think not as America seems to be unmasking right now and unless there's some terrible setback I think the genie won't be easily put back in the bottle. I saw the Speaker of the House on CNN last night maskless for the first time since last March and they showed a clip of her saying she's attending some sporting event in her home district this weekend so when even the most cautious leaders are moving away from masks and returning to events I have a hard time seeing them coming back.

I would agree. I think the US are now moving at speed into a summer of normality.
We in the UK seem to forget that such a large % of people have a significant level of protection. The Indian variant doomsday discussions seem to be driven by fear and panic more than data and science. Unless that variant evades vaccine it does not stand a chance of running wild in this country. But I agree it's a concern and we should stamp it out ASAP but I don't think it should be holding back the road map. I also don't think anyone other than Drakeford has as yet hinted that would actually be the case. |

No way am I wearing a mask for 12+ hours, 30 minutes in the supermarket is enough for me. I've been thinking about a back up plan for November if South Africa is off the cards, but won't be flying anywhere if we still have to wear masks.

My understanding is that the mask is to help reduce the chance of YOU spreading the virus, rather than doing anything to help reduce the chances of catching it from others. Unless you have a high quality filtering mask like N95. So even after the vaccine you can still carry the virus right? So I’d imagine masks will be mandatory for a while yet unfortunately
