Yes my son has four days off so far 24,25,26,27 and he’s happy about that. He’s on click and collect and they are really good about giving him time off.

I noticed today that Home Bargains are also closed on the 26th. Completely correct IMO. All shops should be closed on 26th and on New Years Day.

I never shop on the 26th on principle , and Next’s ridiculous early opening which messes up their staff’s Christmas Day too means I boycott them year round.

Glad to hear it. I have also never shopped on boxing day because I don’t think they should be open.
Over the two years that I worked in retail, I worked all days over Christmas except Christmas Day (obviously!) and it was very quiet and not much fun.

I too have worked in retail and know the feeling.
I know we have Next sale fans on here who didn’t agree with my stance in past years and didn’t agree though.

The majority of the shops that are closing Boxing Day I think from list I’ve seen kept going as were classed as essential shops during lockdowns? Whilst it’s great they are going to be shut they kept going throughout so maybe less dents in the coffers.
I work in non essential retail so we’ve locked down twice we are open Boxing Day, how busy we will be I don’t know, people will go to the sales they always do although me personally it doesn’t appeal, I’m only out cos I have to be I’d much rather be at home.
Queues for some stores are manic on a normal Boxing Day... take next for example , with Covid that would be my idea of hell... I don’t need half price stuff that badly I’ll risk catching this bloody virus

Yeah. it’s never fun is it. I spent one of those Boxing Days being shouted at for most of it by customers, it was a quiet day, but the majority of people we got in just wanted to argue, whilst I just wanted to go home and play board games...

I don’t do any sales over Christmas, Boxing Day for us is spent in our pjs, playing games and eating party food.

Have a feeling you will survive. Just buy some extras and get someone to hide them for you for Boxing Day.

Can remember when the only shops open locally Boxing Day were the furniture shops which had been closed for 4 days prior to Christmas. Am not a Boxing Day shopper.
